Century Memorial

George Winthrop Folsom, sprung from a distinguished colonial family, was born to wealth. He discharged with quiet conscientiousness the duties, small and great, of his position. As the owner of an estate at Lenox where he resided, he took part in the affairs of the town and the Episcopal church, even as in New York he had been a faithful manager of the House of Refuge. Trained to the law, circumstances made him the manager of estates, in which capacity he evinced the soundest judgment. This modest gentleman had also a gift for society and hospitality.
