Century Memorial

William Montague Geer had for thirty years served in St. Paul’s Chapel, Trinity Parish, first as assistant minister, then as vicar, and since his retirement in 1918 had continued to officiate in much of the church’s work. Dr. Geer was described by his colleagues as a clergyman of “high ideals, perseverance in right living and right teaching, consistency, energy, courage and courtesy.” He was not always a ready talker, but the Century reading-room company came to recognize instantly the tall figure with the bushy beard and friendly manner, always installed in an easy-chair beside the magazines.
