Archivist’s Note: He ostensibly resigned sometime before 1851 and was reinstated in June 1877 with a new set of proposers: Roswell D. Hitchcock and Henry A. Oakley. Father-in-law of John Crosby Brown and Eugene Delano; grandfather of Thatcher M. Brown, William Adams Brown, Moreau Delano, and William Adams Delano; great-grandfather of William Adams Brown Jr., William Richard P. Delano, and John Crosby Brown Moore.
