Fletcher H. Bangs was for many years a member of the well-known book auction firm which bears his own and his father’s name; a firm established by a still earlier member of the family in 1820. Himself a New Yorker by birth, he was a member of numerous social and historical organizations of the city, and had been connected with this club during more than a quarter of a century.
