Century Memorial

Junius Spencer Morgan, like the most celebrated member of the family, his uncle [J. Pierpont Morgan], was a banker in Wall Street and, again like his distinguished relative, a collector of taste and discrimination. His collection of Dürer prints, now in the hands of the Metropolitan Museum, of antiques and silverware, also of Virgiliana, were quite out of the ordinary, and were publicly recognized both by institutions and governments. Since his retirement from business, a quarter of a century ago, he had lived in Europe.
