Century Memorial

Charles S. Reinhart was one of the most distinguished of American illustrators, as well as an artist of recognized merit and excellence.

He was honored by medals upon several occasions in the Paris Salon, and received from those best fitted to judge, critics and his brother artists, the recognition due to great talent and brilliant work. His illustrations of the works of some of our most noted American authors gave him an assured reputation here and abroad, and the regret that came with his death while still in the prime of life is heightened by the knowledge that his best work is left uncompleted, when it seemed that he had many years of promise before him.
