One of [Charles Hopkins] Clark]’s most efficient lieutenants on the Courant is on our list tonight. Watson L. Sperry was for seventeen years both a shareholder and editorial writer of that newspaper, and helped to sustain its high repute. Like many other journalists in many American cities, he got his first training on the old New York Evening Post.
