Century Memorial

Lewis Williams was elected to the Century in 1921. He died on May 22, 1950, at the age of seventy-three [sic: seventy-two].

He graduated from Harvard in 1900. He went into business at first; but his primary interest was music, and he took a position on the staff of Yale under another Centurion, Horatio Parker. Subsequently he went to Miss Master’s School as a teacher, and there he stayed the rest of his life.

He made appearances with chamber music groups, and members of the Century heard him on numerous occasions. He had a happy faculty for making and keeping friends.
