Century Memorial

Personal work for the city’s East Side charities was the labor in which Walter Franklin Brush took his greatest interest. He had studied both law and divinity, and practiced law in New York during the years before the removal of his residence to Boston. In this city, he was a busy worker with the Charity Organization Society, president of the Greenwich House Settlement and the Society for Italian Immigrants, and founded the East Side House Settlement.
