Thomas Shields Clarke, although generally known as a sculptor, was also a painter. Members of the Club will recall with pleasure the charming little sketches which he exhibited in our art gallery, not long ago. Clarke was a thorough artist in whatever he did. He designed the beautiful Italian house in which he lived on Riverside Drive, and he also designed his country house near Lenox. Being interested in color photography, he did some extremely interesting photographic work in color in and about his Berkshire home.
