John W. Edmonds

Judge

Centurion, 1851–unknown

Full Name John Worth Edmonds

Born 13 March 1799 in Hudson, New York

Died 5 April 1874 in New York (Manhattan), New York

Buried Hudson City Cemetery, Hudson, New York

Proposed by Charles M. Leupp

Elected 1 February 1851 at age fifty-one

Archivist’s Note: Brother of Francis W. Edmonds; uncle of John Worth Edmonds. There is a possibility that he did not join the club despite documentation of his election, as his name does not appear in any subsequent printed rosters of membership. He may have chosen not to “qualify” for membership (i.e., pay initiation fees). The Century Association has traditionally recognized such cases as former members, however, as rosters were not published annually and it is possible he joined between printings.
