Century Memorial

Rufus G. Beardslee, a member of the bar of New York for some forty-five years, was a member of The Century nearly as long, having been elected in 1859. For more than a quarter of a century he was one of the Board of Education of New York, and its counsel; and in this department of public activity he rendered faithful and valuable service, the advantages of which will last long beyond his time, since it was of the constructive and vital sort.
